We all love the Vampire Diaries series on T.V. I am sad to see the show going off for a while myself. But nothing can last on T.V. for too long and if you ask me the main characters are aging a little.
So here we are with what started the T.V. show and let me just say these books are really good. Stefan and Damon and no where near friendly like they are on the show and if you ask me Elena is a slut in the book more than she is in the show. Her character is based around thinking she is better than everyone and can get whatever she wants, also they are not even close to being friends with Caroline. A twist to the story is Elena dies a lot sooner than she does in the show and with this one she doesn't come back either....well maybe she does but we are not giving that away.
So I like this young adult vampire book better because it doesn't have them strung out on drug or fighting a bunch of drama, they mainly just fight Damon. it does have good detail and it stays interesting throughout the book but I do wish that Elena could have been seen as a different more caring person kind of like she is on the show.I know I am comparing this to the show a lot but that's what happens when you watch it and read the book at the same time.
I recommend this book for mature adults due to some of the words used and some of the sex scenes that show up. But other than that I really liked the book and I believe reading more of them is going on my to do list.
