This is a world divided by blood – red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.

So I am having a lot of mixed feelings for this book because of a lot of things I saw being used in this book was also used in other popular Y.A books. I am not going to talk about characters or a plot with this book; instead I am going to point out to you everything that is wrong with this book.

1. The similarities are very obvious. for starters lets bring back The Hunger Games. Main character Katniss Everdeen who heroically saved her younger sister by volunteering for the games. we all remember the three finger kiss then salute that she does...well lets just say that same thing was used in Red Queen however its two fingers and its a salute to the brow for loyalties. Divergent, another hero as a girl, they also have different factions with different groups and rebellions well Red Queen has a rebellious group as well. "WE ARE THE SCARLET GUARD AND WE STAND FOR THE FREEDOM AND EQUALITY OF ALL PEOPLE." page 36. we all have once in our life seen or heard of the Avatar which has the same group of people as this book who can all control different things and each other. Basically this book is a combination of all these other books but with a few name changes and a different plot seen. I really don't see the point in another book series like this one with nothing different in it at all. sales have to have been bad because I am seeing many bad reviews based around this book.

I don't really think this book it worth the reading, its the same book as all others and basically has nothing different in it from The HungerGames, The Selection, Avatar and many others.
