Big little Lies by Liane Moriarty
To start off this book was a touch and go for me. It had everything a good book needed. Humor, drama, and mystery. While sitting in my coffee shop at any moment reading this book I could laugh, then cry, then wish I could kill some of the characters off myself. So let's get right into it.
Big little lies is based around three separate people and their lives.
Madeline once single and raising her child alone now she is a mean machine and she'll take anyone under her wings. She has two younger kids with new husband ed. And An older daughter with her ex husband who just happens to live close and have his own kid in the same school as hers and a new hippy style wife named Bonnie--remember that name--
Celeste is the perfect woman. She has the perfect family, two twin boys, a hot sexy husband who makes millions and the perfect life. That is when she and her husband perry are not behind closed doors. Celeste is a victim of abuse by her husband who can beat her one minute then the next act like nothing happened and they are in love. Thinking this does not affect her kids she doesn't know how to leave. She hides her secret so well that no one knows what is happening until the end.
New in town Jane. Is a single mom who likes to move around a lot looking for the right place to raise her son soggy. When she happens to meet Madeline laying in the road with a twisted ankle she instantly makes friends. But then on orientation day at school her son is accused of bullying a small girl named Annabella (amabella ) after which she has to show courage while trying to find out the real truth while her son is bullied by the parents and not allowed to play with the other kids.
The book is set around a tragedy that happens at school on parent trivia night. Which in the end brings these three friends their husbands and madelines ex husbands wife closer together.
This book is filled with funny parts such as when Madeline is describing her ex husbands new wife she says "Bonnie must give one hell of an organic blow job" I just about died at this point and when this woman is on her PMS look out ladies she shows us what we really look like too!
I absolutely loved it. I could not get enough of it and by the time I was done reading it I didn't want it to end.
Now let's talk more about Jane which is our main bullied character in the beginning. So Jane had a one night stand long ago with a man named Saxon banks who sales properties. While having sex Saxon verbally abused Jane. He called her fat, ugly, told her she smelled bad and when she asked him to use protection he forcefully did not just to make his point clear. Skip a few years and Jane has ziggy which is the son of Saxon banks and the one night stand. Jane has never told anyone not until every one begins to start pointing fingers at her son for bullying. So she breaks down and tells Madeline everything and of course Madeline tells Celeste which come to find out Saxon is her husbands cousin.
That's all the spoilers I'll give for now. My recommendation is to get this book and read it for yourself you will not regret it at all!
Five stars from bbreview on this book it's a keeper and must read!
