Orange is the new black by piper kerman 3/10 stars piper Kerman is a privileged white upper class girl who gets into a bad way not while she's a teen like normal people but while she is an adult fresh out of college. Piper ends up going to jail and spending 15 months at Danbury prison. This review will probably be short because I found a lot about this book I did not like. It is said that Kerman really did go to prison however this book does not read like a memory it read like a fictional make believe where people in prison are actually nice to you cause your rich and you get left alone because you say your engaged......😐 I personally find this all highly un real. I could say that's because I did watch the show before I even knew about the book BUT unlike what most might think I actually find the show WAY more believable than this book. So no matter what reviews say or anyone else I don't think this book is real. I believe she did go to jail but I think every thing except characters in this book was made up. I also don't believe a warden nor prison would allow a person to publicly shame a prison like this without repercussions involved. And sadly I would like to say I don't recommend this book it's better to watch the show than read this. Sorry but not sorry it's the honest truth.
